Data sources and coverage
Individual advisor movements are identified by comparing the SEC Investment Adviser Representatives Report (IAPD XML feed, published [June DD], 2026) against W Executive's proprietary intelligence database covering 8,863 registered advisors across 981 firms in the US UHNW independent wealth management, multi-family office, trust, fiduciary, and OCIO sectors. Moves are defined as changes in firm registration where the advisor's current firm CRD differs from their stored record, filtered to May 2026 by registration approval date or prior firm departure date. Firm restructurings (entity name changes without change of business) are excluded. Firm-level M&A context is sourced from industry publications including Wealth Management, InvestmentNews, and AdvisorHub.
This report is produced by W Executive's Data & Insights function as part of an ongoing proprietary intelligence platform updated each regulatory filing cycle.
