Role Overview

Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain backend services and platform components.
- Work across multiple languages and frameworks including Python, Kotlin, TypeScript, and Node.js.
- Build and consume REST and gRPC APIs, integrating internal and external services.
- Develop data-intensive systems using relational (PostgreSQL, Oracle) and in-memory (Redis) databases.
- Contribute to cloud-native architecture, deploying services using Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS.
- Implement event-driven, streaming, or async systems using Apache Kafka or similar technologies.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality features on time.
- Maintain system reliability, observability, and operational excellence.
Required Skills & Experience
- Commercial experience as a Software Development Engineer or similar role.
- Strong programming skills in Python, Kotlin, TypeScript, or Node.js.
- Experience with databases, API design, and cloud-based services.
- Comfortable working with distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
- Knowledge of containerisation (Docker, Kubernetes) and cloud deployment practices.
- Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote or hybrid environment.
Desirable Skills
- Experience with industrial IoT, messaging protocols, or high-throughput platforms.
- Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CDK, Pulumi).
- Prior exposure to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and observability tools.
- Experience in high-growth, VC-backed, or product-led tech companies.
