W Talent are delighted to be supporting a well-established aerospace and nuclear manufacturer in the search for a Buyer to join their procurement team. This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly reputable engineering business supplying into critical, highly regulated industries, with a strong focus on quality, precision, and operational excellence. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the efficient procurement of materials, components, and services to support production and business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

* Manage the procurement of raw materials, components, and services in line with production requirements and business demand.
* Raise and manage purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and timely processing.
* Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost, and delivery expectations are achieved.
* Negotiate pricing, lead times, and commercial terms to deliver best value and cost efficiencies.
* Monitor supplier performance and resolve supply, quality, and delivery issues proactively.
* Work closely with Production, Planning, Engineering, and Supply Chain teams to ensure material availability and continuity of supply.
* Analyse inventory levels, demand forecasts, and purchasing trends to support effective stock management.
* Identify cost-saving opportunities and support strategic sourcing initiatives across the supply base.
* Maintain accurate supplier, pricing, and purchasing data within ERP systems.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives across procurement and supply chain functions.

Key Requirements

* Previous experience in a Buyer, Procurement, or Purchasing role within manufacturing, engineering, aerospace, or other regulated industries.
* Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
* Experience managing purchase orders, supplier performance, and inventory requirements.
* Strong commercial awareness with a proactive approach to cost reduction and supplier development.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
* ERP/MRP systems experience preferred.
* Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
