Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in urban underground transmission projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the planning, execution, and completion of high-voltage underground transmission projects within urban environments. This role requires exceptional project management skills, technical expertise, and the ability to navigate the unique challenges of urban construction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Execution: Oversee all phases of project development, from initial planning and design through construction and project close-out. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements.
- Team Leadership: Lead and coordinate multi-disciplinary project teams, including engineers, contractors, and subcontractors. Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, government agencies, and other stakeholders. Maintain clear and effective communication to ensure all parties are informed and aligned throughout the project lifecycle.
- Budget and Schedule Management: Develop and manage project budgets and schedules. Monitor project progress and implement corrective actions as needed to address any deviations from the plan.
- Risk Management: Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation strategies. Proactively address issues to minimize impact on project timelines and costs.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure all project work meets the highest standards of quality and adheres to industry best practices. Conduct regular inspections and audits to verify compliance with project specifications.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including contracts, schedules, budgets, and progress reports. Prepare regular status reports for senior management and clients.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Advanced degree or PMP certification is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of project management experience in the power transmission industry, with a focus on urban underground transmission projects.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of high-voltage transmission systems, underground construction techniques, and urban infrastructure challenges. Proficiency in project management software and tools.
- Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and manage diverse project teams. Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations governing urban construction and utility projects. Experience working with utility companies and government agencies.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Ability to make informed decisions under pressure and adapt to changing project conditions.
