A leading manufacturing company on the forefront of innovation in its industry is currently positioned for further product development. This organisation based in Kent, is seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join the team as Operations Director.

Position Overview:

As the Operations Director (OD), you will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence and ensuring alignment with strategic goals. We are looking for a visionary leader with a proven track record in operations management, continuous improvement, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • P&L: Full P&L responsibility
  • Leadership: Provide strategic direction and foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement within the operations team.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and productivity through lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Health and Safety: Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and promote a safe working environment.
  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve business objectives, including cost optimisation and revenue growth.
  • Stakeholder Management: Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive alignment and collaboration.
  • Warehouse and Supply Chain Management: Oversee warehouse operations and optimise supply chain processes for timely delivery of products.
  • Product Development: Collaborate with R&D to drive innovation and align product development with market demand.
  • Quality Control: Implement and maintain quality control processes to ensure product quality and compliance.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee inventory levels and control procedures to optimise stock levels and minimise costs.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Coordinate maintenance activities to minimise downtime and ensure equipment reliability.
  • Training and Development: Provide training opportunities for staff to enhance skills and foster career growth.
  • Cost Management: Monitor production costs and identify opportunities for waste reduction and efficiency improvements.
  • Environmental Sustainability: Implement sustainable practices to minimise environmental impact.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Lead procurement to manage supplier relationships and ensure timely delivery.

Key Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in operations management within the manufacturing industry.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with ERP systems and lean principles; Lean Six Sigma certification a plus.

What’s on Offer:

Circa £70k +/- (15% dependent on experience) per annum + Bonus, Car / Car Allowance
