This is a pivotal and exciting new position within the business, offering quick progression into Engineering Management. Initially, you will be responsible for managing a team of four Maintenance Engineers, with the role growing and developing as the business continues to expand.

The Role - Maintenance Manager
Reporting into the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for leading and supporting the maintenance function, ensuring machinery, equipment and production facilities remain operational within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will oversee a small team of engineers while remaining hands-on when required, supporting planned and reactive maintenance activities and driving improvements across the site.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading, supporting and developing a team of Maintenance Engineers.
- Planning and coordinating planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities.
- Managing reactive maintenance issues to minimise production downtime.
- Supporting fault finding across mechanical and electrical systems.
- Working closely with production teams to improve equipment reliability and efficiency.
- Identifying opportunities for continuous improvement and process optimisation.
- Ensuring health & safety standards and engineering procedures are maintained.
- Supporting engineering projects, installations and machinery upgrades.
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- Previous experience within a Maintenance Manager, Supervisor or Engineering Team Leader position.
- A strong background within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working within industries such as FMCG, Food, Beverage, Plastics, Heavy Engineering, Automotive or similar.
- Strong mechanical and/or electrical fault-finding skills.
- Experience managing or mentoring engineers.
- Knowledge of planned preventative maintenance systems.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement.
- The ability to work in a fast-paced production environment.
What's on Offer
The role offers a competitive salary of £40,000 to £55,000 depending on experience, working Monday to Friday on a days-based position located in South Sheffield, near Chesterfield.
