Role
W Talent Engineering are working with a key customer in Derbyshire to find an experienced and highly skilled Maintenance Manager to takw full ownership of the site's engineering and maintenance function, leading a skilled team to deliver high levels of equipment reliability and performance. This is a key leadership role focused on driving a proactive, continuous improvement culture while supporting the business through its ongoing growth and transformation.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement maintenance policies and procedures to ensure the reliability and efficiency of manufacturing equipment.
- Plan and schedule preventive maintenance activities to minimise downtime and optimise equipment performance.
- Manage a team of maintenance engineers, providing leadership, guidance, and training as needed.
- Manage a team of maintenance engineers, to challenge status quo and drive behavioural change
- Coordinate with production and engineering teams to prioritise maintenance tasks and minimise disruptions to production schedules.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities to identify maintenance needs and address issues in a timely manner.
- Oversee the procurement of spare parts and maintenance supplies, ensuring adequate inventory levels and cost-effective purchasing practices.
- Monitor maintenance performance metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and reduce maintenance costs.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and promote a culture of safety among maintenance staff.
- Develop and manage the maintenance budget, tracking expenses and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
Requirements:
- HNC/HND, apprentice trained in an engineering discipline is required
- A bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline would be advantageous
- Multi skilled engineering capability would be advantageous
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
- Proven experience in maintenance management within a manufacturing environment.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Proficiency in maintenance management software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritise tasks
