PROFILE:

W Talent is proud to be supporting a leading player in the industrial healthcare sector to recruit a Maintenance Engineer for their Leicester site. This is a hands-on, shift-based role focused on ensuring operational uptime through maintenance, repair, and continuous improvement activities across the site's equipment and infrastructure.

The Role:

As an Engineer, you'll support the Senior Engineer and Engineering Manager by carrying out maintenance tasks, repairs, and project work. You'll play a key role in breakdown response, PPM, equipment upgrades, and ensuring the safe and efficient running of the site.

Key Responsibilities:

* Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) on schedule

* Respond promptly to breakdowns and conduct safe, effective repairs

* Support continuous improvement initiatives to boost reliability and reduce costs

* Maintain effective communication with production teams and shift counterparts

* Monitor contractor activities for safety and compliance

* Ensure adherence to all Health & Safety procedures and standards

* Identify and escalate equipment risks or failures

* Maintain good housekeeping and promote safe working practices

* Keep accurate records and contribute to engineering handovers

* Assist in infrastructure and equipment upgrades

Key Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Recognised mechanical or electrical engineering qualification (e.g. City & Guilds)
  • Electrical Installation (desirable)

Experience:

  • Apprenticeship-trained in mechanical and/or electrical disciplines (preferred with indentures)
  • Skilled in both electrical and mechanical trades
  • Experience in fault finding, maintenance, and fabrication
  • Exposure to systems such as pneumatics, hydraulics, and steam (preferred)

o Ability to work independently and within a team

o Attention to detail and high safety standards

o Flexible and responsive to operational needs
