W Talent is delighted to be working with a fast-growing UK manufacturer specialising in fire-rated entrance doors and doorsets, supplying the social housing, residential, healthcare, education and commercial sectors.

Following continued growth and investment, including expansion into a larger manufacturing facility this year, the business is seeking an experienced Inventory Manager to take ownership of stock control, warehouse operations and inventory processes within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

The Role

Reporting into senior leadership, the Inventory Manager will take responsibility for inventory accuracy, warehouse control and stock management across the manufacturing operation.

Leading a small team across warehouse and dispatch, you will be tasked with improving inventory visibility, reducing waste, introducing stronger controls and implementing best practice processes to support operational performance and customer delivery.

This role will suit someone who thrives in an environment where there is an opportunity to build and improve systems from a relatively blank sheet.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage inventory, warehouse and dispatch operations
  • Manage and develop a team of 5 direct reports
  • Improve inventory accuracy, stock visibility and control processes
  • Drive reductions in excess, obsolete and non-conforming stock
  • Implement effective stock control methodologies and visual management systems
  • Improve warehouse organisation, material flow and inventory processes
  • Support the implementation and optimisation of MRP / inventory management systems
  • Introduce and maintain Kanban, visual management and process controls
  • Work closely with production and operational teams to ensure material availability and continuity of supply
  • Monitor inbound and outbound stock movements to support production and customer delivery
  • Ensure robust reporting and KPI tracking across inventory performance

Key Skills

  • Proven experience in an Inventory Manager, Stock Control Manager, Warehouse Manager or Materials Management role
  • Demonstrable success in reducing stock levels and improving inventory accuracy
  • Experience working within a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Strong understanding of MRP / ERP systems
  • Experience implementing stock controls, visual management and process improvements
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Analytical and data-driven approach to inventory performance

Highly Desirable

  • Experience implementing Kanban systems
  • Knowledge of warehouse and transport/logistics operations
  • Experience supporting fast-paced manufacturing operations
  • Exposure to timber, construction products, industrial or engineered manufacturing environments

Salary and Benefits

  • Salary of up to £50,000
  • Core working hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm
