This unique organisation operating within the healthcare sector is searching for an Indirect Procurement Category Manager to lead new and innovative procurement processes.

Position Overview

As the Indirect Procurement Category Manager, you will be responsible for managing the procurement of indirect goods and services essential to UK storage and distribution units. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services across various categories, including Innovation, Facilities Management (FM), Capital Expenditures (CAPEX), Packaging, Maintenance, Technology, Repair and Operations (MRO), Utilities, Marketing and Digital. The professional procurement category manager has total ownership to identify total cost of acquisition opportunities throughout the whole of this organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute procurement strategies for indirect categories, focusing on cost reduction, quality improvement, and supplier relationship management
  • Effectively manage multiple procurement projects at one time
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard new suppliers to ensure a diverse and competitive supply base
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to optimise terms and conditions while minimising risks
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and align procurement activities with business objectives
  • Monitor market trends and industry developments to identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings
  • Historical spend data analysis
  • Provide regular reporting and analysis on procurement performance, including cost savings, supplier performance, and risk management

Qualifications

  • Degree education
  • MBA or MCIPS / working towards MCIPS
