Group Accountant
Location: Cheshire (Hybrid working available)
Salary: Up to £65,000 + benefits
The Opportunity
An established, private equity-backed group based in Cheshire is seeking a Group Accountant to join its growing finance function. This is a high-impact role offering broad exposure across group reporting, consolidation, audit, and stakeholder engagement within a fast-paced, evolving environment.
The position goes beyond traditional financial reporting, offering the chance to influence processes, support commercial decision-making, and partner with senior non-finance stakeholders across the business.
Key Responsibilities
Ownership of the month-end close process across the group
Preparation of group consolidations and statutory reporting
Leading the external audit process, acting as the key point of contact
Ensuring strong financial controls and compliance across group entities
Driving process improvements to enhance reporting efficiency and accuracy
Acting as a trusted business partner to operational and senior leadership teams
Supporting ad-hoc projects aligned to business growth and transformation
About You
Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA) with a strong financial accounting background
Trained in practice, ideally with some post-qualification experience in industry
Strong first-time movers from practice will also be considered
Exposure to, or a strong interest in, group consolidations and reporting
Confident communicator able to work effectively with non-finance stakeholders
Proactive mindset with the ability to improve processes, not just maintain them
