W Talent is delighted to be supporting an established and successful organisation in the appointment of a General Manager to lead a multi-site operation in Nottingham.

This is a senior leadership position with full P&L responsibility, combining commercial leadership with operational management across distribution, manufacturing, assembly and recycling activities.

The Role

Reporting to the Regional Director, you will take overall responsibility for three Nottingham-based sites, with the primary focus on the distribution operation.

You will lead the commercial and operational strategy, driving sustainable growth in sales, revenue, margin and profitability, whilst ensuring high standards of customer service, safety, compliance and operational performance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Full P&L responsibility across three sites
  • Lead, develop and grow the sales and commercial teams
  • Own sales strategy, targets, pipeline and key customer relationships
  • Manage distribution, warehousing, stock, logistics and purchasing
  • Provide leadership across manufacturing and assembly operations
  • Develop and deliver strategic growth plans
  • Drive continuous improvement, efficiency and operational excellence
  • Develop management capability, succession and team structures
  • Ensure robust Health & Safety and environmental compliance
  • Manage budgets, KPIs and overall business performance

About You

We are looking for an experienced General Manager, Operations Director or Commercial Director with a proven track record of leading a commercially focused, multi-site operation.

You will ideally bring:

  • Proven full P&L accountability
  • Strong sales and commercial leadership experience
  • Relevant manufacturing or assembly experience
  • Distribution, warehouse or logistics management experience
  • A demonstrable record of delivering business growth and improved profitability
  • Experience leading operational improvement and change
  • Strong Health & Safety leadership
  • Lean Six Sigma or continuous improvement experience would be highly beneficial
  • Multi-site leadership experience
  • Excellent communication, leadership and decision-making skills
  • Experience within packaging, manufacturing, assembly, paper/cardboard or recycling would be advantageous.
