The Role - CAD Technician

This is an excellent opportunity for a CAD Technician with 2D and 3D CAD experience to join a supportive and experienced technical team, working on a variety of engineering projects from initial design through to manufacture and installation.
The successful CAD Technician will work closely with the Design, Sales, Contracts, Manufacturing and Installation teams to produce accurate technical drawings and support the successful delivery of customer projects. The role will involve creating and amending engineering drawings, maintaining project documentation and ensuring designs meet both customer specifications and manufacturing requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Produce accurate 2D and 3D technical drawings using AutoCAD.
- Create and update general arrangement, fabrication, CNC and structural steelwork drawings.
- Maintain and manage project drawings and documentation using Autodesk Vault.
- Amend existing drawings in line with project and customer requirements.
- Produce manufacturing lists and supporting technical documentation.
- Support manufacturing and installation teams with technical drawings and design queries.
- Liaise with internal departments to ensure designs meet project specifications.
- Assist with design reviews and manufacturing feasibility checks.
- Ensure drawings are accurate and comply with relevant engineering and quality standards.
- Manage multiple drawing projects and meet agreed deadlines.
Key Requirements
- Degree or relevant higher education in Design or Engineering.
- Experience with SolidWorks, AutoCAD or Autodesk Inventor.
- Previous CAD Technician or CAD Designer experience advantageous, but graduates will be considered.
- Ability to produce and amend accurate 2D and 3D technical drawings.
- Good understanding of engineering drawings.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage workloads and meet deadlines.
- Good communication skills and a collaborative approach.
- Confident using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word.

The CAD Technician position is based at Balmoral Tanks in Rotherham, South Yorkshire, offering a salary of £25,000-£30,000, depending on experience.
